WaterNSW report: Renewable
energy and storage using WaterNSW assets -
refers to floating solar (albeit water quality concerns).
Water NSW has
started a procurement process that includes proposals to
install
floating solar on some of its reservoirs. This may be part of
the 2019 NSW
Energy Strategy in association with pumped
hydro.
Safe BASELOAD (i.e. continuous) "nuclear" power with no waste!
Tapping
into vast reserves of heat from natural
radioactive decay in granite 4km underground -
(Apologies for broken links)
3 Jun 09 NewSci: Hot rock
power scheme could brew trouble in Eden
- Nothwithstanding the Basel incident, the risks at the surface
seem
very low compared with pumping billions of barrels of oil from
underground, or concentrating radioactive material in buildings
at the
surface for nuclear power.
21 Nov 09 NewSci ($): US
bets $150m on renewable energy
- $9.1 million to develop a hybrid thermal-mechanical drill
system
capable of quickly cutting through ultra-hard rock formations
deep
underground, potentially unlocking vast new stores of geothermal
energy...
15 Dec 09 NewSci: Double
blow for 'hot rock' geothermal power
- "The Department of Energy believes that geothermal energy
holds
enormous potential to heat our homes and power our economy while
decreasing our carbon pollution," [Comment: some areas are too
risky to
try out this technology]

MWe Habanero Pilot Plant – Commencement of Commissioning
- Geodynamics Limited is pleased to report that it has reached a
key
milestone in the Habanero (geothermal energy) Project,
with the
commencement of commissioning activities today at the 1MWe
Habanero
Pilot Plant.
